If you’re shopping for looks and functionality, the Bestway Helsinki AirJet Hot Tub is without a doubt your best option currently. It is spacious and full of features that really make it one of the premium models out there. The biggest drawback with these 6+ person hot tubs is that they are super expensive and a little bit harder to maintain and warm-up simply due to their large size. Keep on reading my review to find out whether or not it is a good bang for your buck.

Overview and Features
For sure, the feature that is the biggest selling point here is the capacity. Still, with large models, it is often their biggest weakness due to the construction not being sturdy enough to hold that much water volume inside. The Helsinki, on the other hand, seems to be pretty solidly made and the materials seem to match the price tag well. Let’s dive into the construction a bit more now…
Construction & Build Quality
While the wooden panel print might fool someone’s eyes at distance, this is still an inflatable model that has a slightly thinner sidewall than most other models that use the I-beam structure. The drop-stitch frame really allows for multiple inflations and deflations without having to worry about stability and rigidity, although there will be a certain sacrifice in comfort. While most inflatable side walls are soft and comfortable to lay on, these aren’t. That is done to maximize water volume and, honestly, I’d rather have a smaller but more comfortable tub than a bigger one with harder sidewalls.
One thing I cannot fault, though, is the build quality here which is pristine and is matching to the heavy price tag that comes with this model.
Dimensions and Capacity
The Helsinki hot tub measures 71 inches in diameter and 26 inches in height. The internal volume is around 67 inches which is exactly why it can fit around 6 people. Other hot tubs with similar outer diameters do not have that inner diameter, meaning they fit fewer people in the same overall footprint. On average, most other 4-6 person models have around 55 inches of inner space (diameter), making them significantly narrower.
While all that is good, the reality is that the Helsinki will struggle with 6 adults. The best-case scenario in which everyone feels comfortable is around 4-5 adults or 6 kids. Anything more than that is pushing it beyond the comfort zone.
If you want something smaller which is at the same time just as comfortable and far more economical, head over to my Coleman SaluSpa Inflatable Hot Tub Spa Review. While it is a much cheaper model, it stands its ground with some unique features and premium build quality.
Heater & Jets
The heater used here is the standard one many inflatable hot tubs use nowadays. It is fairly powerful and it can heat up the water to around 104 degrees. While that is quite nice, it does take a while before it eventually gets there. It takes around 1 full day to fully heat the water from around 50 degrees (in normal ambient temperatures) but the cool thing is that you can set the heater up 3 days in advance for it to automatically starts itself and heat up the water.
The bubble jets here are powered by the air pump which is used to inflate the hot tub and they are spread around evenly across the circled bottom. There are 83 of them which isn’t too much, especially considering the price tag of the Helsinki tub.
Air jets and bubbles are in the center of the spa therapy effect hot tubs have. They also help our bodies through their high water temperatures. You can learn more about the different benefits associated with hot tubs by clicking here.
Bestway spa products have always posses a certain simplicity about them, despite their premium build quality and designs. Nothing here requires tools to be installed and all the parts click together once you take them out of their package. All you have to connect is the air pump to the mainframe of the tub and the water hoses to the pump and the rest will be automatically done by it. The water will start flowing once the tub is fully inflated.
What I miss seeing here, despite the high price, is a hard-water treatment feature that is quite helpful in keeping your tub helpful in the long run. Even though it will add to the costs, I really suggest buying one separately if you’re living in a region with notoriously hard water.
There aren’t many additional features here that are worth mentioning apart from a few really cool points. The most important thing I haven’t mentioned yet is that the pump here acts as a few things at once. It keeps the spa inflated, heats up the water, and also works with the built-in filtration system to ensure fresh-looking tub at all times. It also works with the bubble air jets. All of those different features are controlled from its top panel where you have 8 different control buttons, an on/off button, and a display that gives you the current temperature and other settings.
Unlike other inflatable hot tubs, the “Helsinki” has a built-in chlorine dispenser. The Chemconnect dispenser is built into the wall of the tub and disperses a steady amount of chlorine throughout the session in order to maintain a steady chlorine level. You also get 2 filter cartridges and a hardcover for your tub with the whole package.

- Very expensive
- Also expensive to run due to the large water volume

Conclusion and Rating
As a whole, the Bestway Helsinki AirJet Hot Tub is a premium option for anyone looking for something that will really stand out and improve the way the backyard looks. With its unique design and durable construction, this inflatable hot tub will make sure that you and your family have a great time in it. What I really like about this model is its large capacity and the fact that it has a huge water capacity. What’s not so good is that all that water will take its time to fully heat up and the large size will mean it will be harder to inflate, move around, and maintain. While there are better bangs for your buck out there, this is a solid choice if you want the best of the best.
